Vinith Ayapilla is a Tech Dev at TIMSS & PIRLS, responsible for testing and delivering the center's websites and digital content. Alongside core web operations, Vinith leads AI engineering initiatives such as developing semantic reliability pipelines and using LLMs to digitize decades of legacy research data. He is deeply passionate about the open-source AI ecosystem, frequently testing models and building custom internal tools.

Prior to joining TIMSS & PIRLS, Vinith worked as a Senior Technology Associate at ZS and earned his MBA from Boston College. Fascinated by the intersection of technology, economics, and policy, he brings a product management mindset to engineering challenges and always focuses on building tech that solves real user and organizational needs.
