Dr. Dihao Leng
Senior Research Specialist

Dr. Dihao Leng specializes in advanced psychometrics and AI applications, contributing to special analyses for insight reports, special projects, and quality control procedures. As a former graduate research assistant at the TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center, she conducted research on process data analysis, automated scoring of mathematics expressions, and leveraging large language models for the automated generation of mathematics items.

Dr. Dihao Leng earned her PhD in Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics, and Assessment from Boston College. Her dissertation integrated advanced statistical modeling and machine learning techniques to propose novel methods for advancing the utility of process data in large-scale assessments. Prior to joining TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center full-time, she had professional experience as a psychometric research intern at the Graduate Management Admission Council, where she analyzed GMAT examinees’ test-taking behaviors and supported test security operations. She also holds a Master's degree in Mathematics Education and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, both from Fudan University in China.
